Are eye ulcers for dogs contagious?
I read that some types of ulcers for humans can be contagious, but we have an 8-year old Corgi with an eye ulcer that needs to be operated on or it can collapse the eye. It’s so deep the eye actually has to be removed as well. Just wondering if we should keep the other dogs from sniffing and licking the area.
It isn’t my dog persay so I had no authority to take her, but thanks for all the answers. Im not sure since she isn’t really my dog, just a dog of a brother of the family.

You should ask your vet to be safe, but I don’t think so. I have worked with a vet for years.
haparlor | Feb 08, 2010

is it viral? cherry eye isn’t…most r hereditary…if it is caused by something else, i know diseases r "specie"specific….did not spell that right i know….but there r few diseases we ca transmit to eachother.
tara p | Feb 08, 2010

No, it’s not contagious. It was probably caused by an injury to the eye.
Eye ulcers are very painful and had you taken your dog to have this attended to earlier, the dog would not need to lose the eye.
sunstar | Feb 08, 2010

The ulcer itself is not contagious. But some eye infections like conjunctivitis can be transmitted from dog to dog.

Heavy Load (2008)

IMDB rating: 7.20

Plot: A year in the life of punk band, Heavy Load, whose members include some musicians with learning disabilities.

Directors: Rothwell Jerry

Actors: Documentary

Accurate FACTORY loads for .223?
I bought a remington .223. Its my first .223 and before i go buying one of everything to see what it likes, I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction.
Here are the specifics:
-Remingtong 700sps Tactical
-20" Heavy contour barrell
-1:9" rate of twist…..
If anyone Has any experience with this quandry let me know.

I spent $140 trying to figure out what my .243 liked… hated rem80 gr. LOVES hornady 100gr.

For the .223 caliber, I actually prefer the Hornandy ammunition or the winchester over remington.. these last few years it seems Remington has let their quality slip some and the bullets don’t seem to pattern within a 10 ring range as the Hornandy and winchester rounds do. But then again that is my experience as others may or will disagree.
been there and smarter now | Jan 01, 2010

I spend over $140 a year for load development… in primers alone.

You and I can have 2 rifles that came off the production line one right after the other. Yours will like brand X …mine will like brand Y. When I shot a lot of factory ammo I found I’d have to zero the rifle to the particular brand or loading I had in hand.
http://www.6mmbr.com/223Rem.html will get you a ton of data for the .223 Remington

Most 1:9 twist barrels will shoot 62-73 grain bullets well enough… heavier you have stabilzation problems.

The grade of rifle you have warrants handloading. Good luck
Jeff | Jan 01, 2010

Federal red box match work good as do Hornady and Remington Accutips. Winchester Supremes work ok as do most white box. Stay in the 40-75gr bullet bracket. 55gr work good in no wind. You may want heavier bullets for long range shooting like 62-75gr. If you are shooting precision and dial you scope in with a specific type of ammo stick with it for serious shooting.
Cold Blue | Jan 01, 2010

As jeff stated, finding a cartridge to match a rifle is more complex than most people realize.
You can have 2 identical rifles built side by side,
One may like one bullet design over the other.
One may like a heavy bullet, the other a light bullet.
One may like a faster powder, the other a slower powder.
One may like a higher velocity, the other a slower velocity.
One may like higher pressures, the other lower pressures.
Changing any one of the factors above may dramatically change 1 or all four of the other factors.

The only way to tell what factory ammo your barrel will like best is to shoot it all and document the results…sorry.
McClintock | Jan 01, 2010

I agree with Jeff. I just recently purchased a Rem 700 SPS Varmint with 26" barrel in .308. It has not shot a factory round and will probably never shoot a factory round. You need to learn to handload.

[Hook]
I’ve been travelin on this road too long,
Just tryin find my way back home,
But the old me’s dead and gone,
Dead and Gone,
I’ve been travelin on this road too long,
Just tryin find my way back home,
But the old me’s and gone,
Dead and Gone,

[Verse 1]
Every had one of them days wish you would have stayed home,
Run into a group of niggas who gettin their hate on,
You walk by – they get wrong,
You reply then shit get blown,
Way out of proportion way bad discussion,
Just you against them pick one then rush them,
Figure you get jumped here thats next,
They don’t wanna stop there now they bustin,
Now you gushin ambulance rushin,
You to the hospital with a bad concusion,
Plus you hit four times but it hit yo spine,
Paralyzed waist down and ya wheelchair bound,
Never mind that now you lucky to be alive,
Just thinkin it all started fussin wit three guys,
Nigga pride in the way but your pride is the way you can f**k
around get shot down anyday,
Niggas die everyday,
All little bullshit, dope money, dice games, for their hood shit,
Could this be cuz of hip-hop music,
Or did the ones with the good sense not use it,
Usually niggas don’t know what to do when they back against the wall,
So they just start shootin,
For red or for blue or for blow I guess,
From Bankhead at the old projects,
No more stress now I’m straight,
Now I get it now I take time to think before I make mistake just for my
family stake,
That part of me left yesterday
The harder me is strong today,
No regrets I’m blessed to say the old me dead and gon away,

[Hook]
I’ve been travelin on this road too long,

[Verse 2]
I ain’t neva been scared I live through tragic,
Situations could been dead lookin back at it,
Most of that shit didn’t even have to happen,
But you think about it when you out there trappin’,
In the appartments hangin’, smokin and rappin,
Niggas start shit next thing we know we cappin,
Get locked up then didn’t even get mad,
Now I think about that what a life I had,
Most of that shit look back just laugh,
Some shit still look back get sad,
Thinkin my home boy still be around had I not hit the nigga in the mouth that time,
I won that fight I lost that war,
I could still see my nigga walkin out that door,
Who would of thought I’d never see Philant no more,
Got enough dead homies I don’t want no more,
Cuz a nigga his jump cost me more,
I’d a took that ass whoppin out for sure,
Now think before I risk my life,
Take them chances to get my stripes,
A nigga put his hands on me alright,
Otherwise stand there talk shit all night,
Cuz I hit you and you sue me,
I shoot you get locked up poor me,
No more stress now I’m straight,
Now I get it now I take time to think before I make mistake just for my
family stake,
That part of me left yesterday

[Bridge]
I turn my head to the east I see nobody by my side,
I turn my head to the west still nobody in sight,
So I turn my head to the north swallow that pill and think alright,
That old me dead and gone what that mean I’m gon be alright,
I turn my head to the east I see nobody by my side,
I turn my head to the west still nobody in sight,
