There has to be more criteria than that. This doesn’t even begin to touch funny films.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Some Like it Hot
Young Frankenstein
Annie Hall
It Happened One Night
These are not even obscure movies. These are obvious films that nearly everything list would include. Something doesn’t make sense to me. And seriously, Just Married!?! Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen?!?

Never seen or heard of 1-6 so can’t answer
7 – no. it is not that funny.
8-11 never seen or heard of
12 not funny at all
13 pretty cute and a little "ha ha" funny
14-18 never seen or heard of
19 medium funny
20 hell no it’s not funny
* the ones i never even heard of shouldn’t be on any top 20 list. movies on lists like that are supposed to be things people talk about.

Umm… this list read like the person who wrote it hasn’t seen many funny films, or probably many films in general. Just Married and Confessions… should not even be there and Who’s your Caddy? wtf??!!?, I would understand Mean Girls before Confessions…(not that either should be on the list)
Spaceballs and That Darn Cat were good inclusions, the fact there are no Monty Python films on this list is shameful no Charlie Chaplin either. Ugh. And everyone knows Blazing Saddles should be on every comedy list.

I have only seen two of these number 10 and 19. The others might be very good, but I doubt they would surpass the following (just off the top of my head):
1. The Bank Dick – WC Fields
2. Duck Soup, Night at the Opera – Marx Bros
3. Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, The Producers – Mel Brookes
4. Bedazzled – Cook and Moore
5. Life of Brian, Holy Grail – Monty Python
6. The Mouse that Roared, The Ladykillers and any one of a number of Ealing comedies of the 1950s and 60s.
7. Burn After Reading, O Brother – George Clooney
8. Most of the Laurel and Hardy and Abbott and Costello catalogue.
9. The general – Buster Keaton
10 The Great Dictator – Chaplin
and Titanic, although I am not sure that was intentionally funny.
